Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is your approach to therapy?

At Zuckerman Wellness, I use an integrative, evidence-based approach that treats the whole person—mind, body, and environment. I draw from modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness-based practices, and somatic techniques. Treatment is personalized to meet your unique needs, with a focus on sustainable emotional wellness and practical strategies for everyday life.

2. What issues do you specialize in?

I work with adults and couples navigating a wide range of concerns, including:

  • Anxiety and chronic stress

  • Depression and mood disorders

  • Trauma and emotional dysregulation

  • Relationship issues and couples therapy

  • Life transitions and burnoutIf you're unsure whether therapy is right for your specific concern, feel free to reach out for a consultation.

3. Do you offer in-person or virtual sessions?

Both. I provide in-person therapy at my downtown Chicago office (30 N. Michigan Ave) and virtual therapy for clients located anywhere in the state of Illinois. The virtual option offers flexibility and privacy for those with busy schedules or who prefer remote care.

4. How do I get started?

You can begin by scheduling a free 15-minute consultation through contacting me 312-219-5714 or by emailing me directly at rebecca@zuckermanwellness.com This call is a chance for us to briefly connect, discuss what you're looking for, and determine whether we’re a good fit.

5. What are your fees? Do you accept insurance?

Zuckerman Wellness accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield and is a private-pay practice. For those in network, I bill directly. For those out of network, I do not bill insurance directly but can provide you with a superbill that you may submit to your insurance provider for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Please contact your insurance company to verify your mental health benefits. Current session rates are available upon request or during your consultation.

6. How long is a typical therapy session?

Individual therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes in length. Couples sessions may be 50 or 75 minutes, depending on the nature of the work. The frequency and duration of therapy depend on your goals and progress, and we will discuss a plan that works best for you.

7. How long will I need to be in therapy?

Therapy is highly individual. Some clients seek short-term support around a specific issue, while others benefit from longer-term work focused on deeper patterns and personal growth. During our work together, we will regularly check in on your progress and adjust the treatment plan as needed.

8. What is an integrative approach, and how is it different from traditional therapy?

An integrative approach combines techniques from several evidence-based therapies to treat the whole person. Rather than following a single method, I tailor our work together using tools that align with your specific goals and preferences. This approach also considers lifestyle factors—such as sleep, nutrition, movement, and stress levels—as essential parts of mental health care.

9. What if I’ve never been to therapy before?

That’s completely okay—and you’re not alone. Many of my clients are new to therapy. I strive to create a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can feel safe, heard, and supported. During our first few sessions, we’ll get to know each other, explore what brings you in, and clarify your goals for therapy.

10. Do you offer mindfulness coaching in addition to therapy?

Yes. For those who are not seeking clinical therapy but are interested in mindfulness as a tool for stress management, emotional resilience, or personal growth, I offer mindfulness coaching sessions. These are available to individuals regardless of diagnosis and are focused on integrating mindful practices into daily life.
